SASO Notice on Prohibition of Import of Asbestos

Reference to the technical regulation of food safety in the tools and appliances used in the kitchen, which was approved by the Authority’s Board of Directors No. (177), and in reference to Cabinet Resolution No. (162), which stipulated: (Prohibition of importing asbestos and goods and materials containing this substance).

Therefore, we would like to assure all acceptable conformity assessment bodies not to issue any certificate of conformity for products containing this substance, and in the event of a violation of what is stipulated in the circular, the authority will take legal action with the violating parties.
