SASO postpone the employment of RoHS Technical Regulation

After reviewing the Authority’s Board of Directors’ Decision No. (06/180/2021) in its meeting No. (179) held on January 29, 2021 AD, regarding the adoption of a number of technical regulations, including the “Technical Regulations for Reducing Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Devices and Equipment”, Published in the Official Gazette on 06/07/2021 AD, which is scheduled to enter into force on 05/01/2022 AD.

And with reference to the meeting of the Conformity Steering Committee No. (17-21) held on 09/12/2021 after studying the requests of the private sector and international organizations Considering the postponement of the application of the technical regulation for the reduction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic devices and equipment to correct their conditions in accordance with the requirements of the regulation, we would like to inform you that the authority decided to postpone the application of the technical regulation for the reduction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic devices and equipment for a period of six months, after which the application will be carried out in stages according to the table below:
